Splendiferous!
Yeap.... Last Thursday afternoon...
.... the knock on the door was faint. All to faint as if not to completely interrupt that ever so occasional siesta, product of trying to burn the candle at both ends… and giving in to the mid-afternoon sun flooding the room with warmth and glow. Soothing, gentle the drift away took place, like a content and spoiled cat curled up in a favorite chair.

Knock-knock, I thought I heard or, maybe not… Slowly, I got up and closely listened to the whispers of sound in the room, were there none?
Into the peep-hole I went to spy out, as a swift shadow vanished away. Quickly, I flung the door open as the one at the stairs slammed shut.
Blocking my passage out, smack in the middle of my doorway a shopping cart - in its bottom -
a completely undiguised (naked?), large, lone, round,
glowing orange pumpkin staring right back at me.
(I swear I saw it wink.)
They did again!
The guys doing what they like doing best: little-big, fun, caring things for others!
Me included …

Thank you darlings!
and
HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL!
PS.: Thank you Krystyna for the Opening word

So first halloween, and then setting fire to Guy Fawke's
well that should have cleared the air of any 'demons' - lol!

Als but no, All Saints and all hallows was about lighting a candle and communing with the spirits of dear departed ones, somehow got lost in the fog of ghost stories and Freddy Krugger

Bonfire night used to be about letting go - burning old furniture, old leaves, old trees, dead wood, old clothes, paintings, dolls, art , (even problems), ...
and making way for the new

But people have forgotten what it was all about, and like Xmas, they become just another hectic day, yo rush around shopping, cooking, dressing-up and eating ... only to find the real magic or 'sparkle' has fizzled away.

And tomorrow is just another day with the exactly same problems brought over from the previous day.

So here's wishing you a new day, in this icy cold sunny wintery day

You reminded me of an Uruguayan tradition - name escapes me now - along those lines... yes! will have to enquire for what its called.

Thank you for this as Halloween
is still alien to me, as much as Freddie Kruger is...

sweet dream wishes in your present slumberland..
