“I wander’d lonely as a cloud That floats on high o’er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze. Continuous as the stars that shine And twinkle on the Milky Way, They stretch’d in never-ending line Along the margin of a bay; Ten thousand saw I at a glance, Tossing their heads in sprightly dance. The waves beside them danced; but they Out-did the sparkling waves in glee: A poet could not but be gay, In such a jocund company: I gazed—and gazed—but little thought What wealth the show to me had brought: For oft, when on my couch I lie In vacant or in pensive mood, They flash upon that inward eye Which is the bliss of solitude; And then my heart with pleasure fills; And dances with the daffodils.” - William Wordsworth -

Daffodils and their yellow is one of my favorite colours - and, I almost feel like a liar, as the majority of colours are my "favorites" leaving only a few slightly at the margin - I will then, simply say, that yellow has a warm, joyous, life giving effect on me.
You must imagine then when a friend showed up for lunch with this bunch... as the unending dark, cloudy days have not left us entirely, alternating with densely fogged-in days or added high winds...
These have been the gloomiest 4 months I have ever experienced, greatly influencing my mood, we had one full day of sunshine since Halloween and about three afternoons or partly days where the sun peeked out from behind the clouds.
Lately our temperatures have also dropped to half of what we normally experience. White Rock is one of the areas where we not only normally have a lot of sunshine, but our winter temperatures hover around the 12°C mark, often reaching at times those fabulous 16-18°C marks in mid-January...
Ohh..... SUN god bless us with your presence and warmth!

I just became familiar with Wordsworth recently - most likely he was part of your school curriculum (?)
dearest Rauf, it always fascinates me when someone remembers poetry - coincidentaly,
Depak also brought this poem to my attention... (at mischief)

Hi AngelDust!
WooW! Soo beautiful!
I love this beauty!

The daffodis delighted Wordsworth with their abundance and beauty.
Hi composed this famous poem two years after he saw these flowers walking by Ullswater on the stormy day with his sister Dorothy.
He uses his poetry to look at the relationship between nature and human life, and to explore the belief that nature can have an impact on our emotional and spiritual lives.

Have a lovely weekend Angel!
